CONTEST TIME -- from the Great Moments in Baseball card --
In 1956 Dale Long of the Pirates hit a home run in 8 consecutive games.
--- In 1987, who tied Dale's mark ??? ---- (try figuring out the answer before googling)
This feat was also tied again in 1993 by The Kid -- Ken Griffey Jr
Only 20 players have hit home runs in at least 6 consecutive games in MLB history.
All who leave a comment with the correct answer, will be entered into the randomizer, and the winner will receive all the above 1988 Score cards.
Last day to comment will be March 4th 2017.
Good Luck
Keep On Collecting !!

Don Mattingly did it in 1987.
ReplyDeleteMike is correct!
DeleteMattingly hit 10 HR during that stretch. I remember watching each game, hoping he'd hit one and he kept doing it! He also broke another HR record that same year, with 6 Grand Slams. He hit 2 during the 8 game streak I think. He never hit another Grand Slam before or after that season.
ReplyDeleteHe was featured on Seinfeld: Don Mattingly
ReplyDeleteand the Simpsons...
DeleteCan't forget the Simpsons..
