( Ryan Mountcastle was also on the 2020 team as an  OF.  Cal Ripken Jr is the only other player to be selected twice, and both Mountcastle and Ripken played for the Orioles)

Topps will be putting the trophy cup on their 2022 base set.  Also, as in the previous few years, Topps will issue a Topps Now card starting today (8Nov21).  Issued on Topps.com for $9.99 each for a limited time of 24 hours.

The National Sports Collectors Convention 2021...

 

I had a spectacular time at this years convention!  The previous 2 times attending (2017 and 2019) I only spent a day each time, but this year I spent 2 wonderful days sorting through $1 and dime boxes,  along with other miscellaneous boxes that caught my eye.   Also seeing all the cards in cases that are well out of my means, but still fun to look at, and you never know, one day it could happen.  The best part was meeting and chatting with the dealers and other hobbyists.  From here on out when I attend, I plan on minimum 2 days, possibly 3.  I have already started by savings plan.

Another Great Oddball Set ...

 I have added another great oddball set to the collection...

The 1991 Topps Babe Ruth movie set!

Stephen Lang played Babe Ruth, Pete Rose played  Ty Cobb, and Rod Carew was the baseball consultant for the movie.

This aired on October 6th 1991 on NBC.

The Chronicles of Fuji blog had brought this set to my attention.  So I went to the place I know that carries a lot of different oddball sets/items, Fritsch Cards and they had it.

Now to try and find the movie some where.  Have not found it yet.  Let me know if anyone out there knows where to look.

Mail Day !!!!!

 Got home from work and here is what I found in the mail...

FREE ( we all like free )  from Topps, they sent me a Mike Trout promo card.  I can use the promo code on the back to get 2021 Topps Now Road to Opening Day team set.  Wait and see how they look and maybe get the Royals.

Also found this at my front door.....also from Topps...

My 2021 Hobby box ....... YEAH!!!!🙌

To this date, I have yet to find any retail at any store in my area.  🙎

Hopefully soon!  I would like to open some retail before breaking into the hobby box.

Need to start looking for the Rookie Trophy Cup cards for my collection.

My Project 2020 and Topps Project 2020 (Update)

 My Project 2020 was started in April and construction finished in June of 2020.

The room is storing a few extra items right now, as my wife has me working on my project 2021..

Remodeling the family room !!!

Still working on what to set out on display and reorganization of The Baseball Card Room as time permits.
